A graduate of Manhattan’s Institute of Audio Research, DJ Triple B got his start at the age of eighteen, spinning in bars and clubs throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn. After receiving his degree in Audio Engineering he won an internship, and then a job at the Cutting Room Recording Studio in Greenwich Village. While there he got the opportunity to be in the studio with many of his idols and at one point or another nearly the entire roster of Rawkus Records which was his favorite record label at the time. He was also fortunate enough to work on the recordings from many different genres. That experience combined with the wide range of sounds Blake’s parents and friends introduced him to growing up taught him about the common threads that unite all music. That thread is something Triple B has learned to use throughout his career to unite the diversity in his collection smoothly with mixes that feel natural and achieve the vibe desired.
It’s that ability to take a tangled knot of sounds and weave them it into something new that keeps Triple B on the pursuit of the perfect mix. Those skills and his knack for reading crowds have kept him in high demand for over 15 years now. He currently maintains 7 DJ residencies, and plays 4 to 5 days a week at locations all over North Carolina. He also enjoys DJing weddings and events where his musical knowledge can be used to customize the perfect playlist and experience for both the party holders, and their guests. All of Triple B’s hard work was recognized when the readers of the Independent named him the Best DJ in the Triangle in both 2012 and 2014.
